What Are The Ingredients For Healthier Pasta and Sauce Recipe?The ingredients for Healthier Pasta and Sauce are: 1 can (15 oz) of Healthy Choice Garlic and Herb Pasta Sauce1/2 cup chopped Onions 1/2 cup chopped Sweet peppers (bell) 1/4 cup diced Celery 4 oz Lean Ground Beef (90% Lean) 1 cup Yellow Squash (chopped or 'spiralized') 1 cup Zucchini Squash (chopped or 'spiralized') 6 oz Whole Wheat Spaghetti 1/2 tsp Mrs. Dash (R) Original Blend 1/2 tsp Mrs. Dash (R) Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend 1/4 tsp Black Pepper 1/4 tsp Pepper, red or cayenne 1/2 tbsp Basil 1/2 tsp Oregano 1 tsp Onion powder 1 tsp Garlic 1 Tbsp. Wheat Germ 1 Tbsp.Whole Ground Flaxseed Meal 1/2 cup Crushed Tomatoes 1/2 tsp. Salt substitute (like Morton's or other low-sodium substitute) How Do I Make Healthier Pasta and Sauce?Here is how you make Healthier Pasta and Sauce: Brown lean ground beef in a large skillet until done. Drain & rinse the ground beef & set the skillet aside to saute the veggies & make the sauce.Chop or use 'spiralizer' to cut squash into noodles. Chop/dice onions, peppers & celery. In the same skillet used for the beef, add the chopped onions, peppers, & celery & saute in a little olive oil. Add the spaghetti sauce, tomatoes, & seasonings & simmer for about 10 minutes. Boil water to cook the whole wheat spaghetti noodles. Add noodles & cook until almost done (al dente) - about 8-10 minutes - then add the squash noodles (or chopped squash) to the spaghetti noodles & let them cook for another couple of minutes. Drain the pasta/squash noodles & then add them to the sauce in the skillet & let them simmer for a few minutes. Note: If the sauce is too thick after the noodles are added, add some water or tomato juice (like V8) to thin it.
