2 cups onion, chopped

5 cups fresh mushrooms, whole or sliced

Here is how you make Rita's Spaghetti Sauce:

Parboil Italian sausage. Set aside. Brown ground beef and ground turkey, rinse and drain. Saute onion, green pepper, and chopped garlic until onion is translucent. Return meat to skillet. Add stewed tomatoes and mushrooms. Season with basil, oregano and pepper. Add 28 oz can tomato puree or tomato sauce.
