1 1/2 medium white onions chopped (311gm)
4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced (17 gm)
2 celery stalks, sliced (150 gm)
1/2 red pepper, chopped (84 gm)
2 Tbsp Oregano leaves
1 tsp salt
2 tsp Rosemary leaves
1 14.5 oz can diced Tomatoes (411 gm)
1 tsp arrowroot
1/2 can tomato can water


How Do I Make Sharon's Basic Spaghetti Sauce?

Here is how you make Sharon's Basic Spaghetti Sauce:

Heat large skillet, preferably cast iron, to hot. Put in the chopped onions and saute until lightly brown. Add the garlic, celery and red pepper and saute for 5 minutes or until soft. Remove from pan to a dish. Put the ground beef into the hot pan. Use a metal spatula to chop the beef into bite size pieces as it browns. Stir. When most of the pink is gone add the Oregano, salt, and crushed Rosemary. (Crush in your hands over the pot.) When meat totally done replace the sauteed vegetables and add the can of tomatoes (with liquid). Fill the tomato can halfway with water and the arrowroot and stir. Add to the pan. Bring to a soft boil. Turn to low and let simmer about 15 minutes. Serve over pasta. Or use as a pizza sauce.
