Add Olive Oil to sauce pan over moderate heat. Add the onion & garlic and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, brown the ground beef. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and beef to the oil/onion/garlic. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Add 1/2 c water and 2 tbsp butter and stir until melted.Tip: When boiling the spaghetti, I add 2 beef boiullon cubes to the water. It adds a nice subtle flavor to the noodles. Then I take a ladelful of this pasta water to add to the sauce instead of plain water. It seems to add a little something!Makes about 16 half-cup servings.
