Chop onions into quarters and squash to roughly the same size layer in the bottom of the crockpot. Next layer is the 4 pork chops regular thickness. Final layer saurkraut and set crockpot to low for at least 8hrs. (I run mine for 10hrs) When you get home before you want to eat chop up the apples you can choose to peel or not into a microwave safe bowl and cook on high for 6-8 minutes or until it resembles applesauce (which is what we are making). If you choose to not peal I don't because I'm lazy just a quick zip in the blender will get it all smooth.
