Here is how you make Old Fashioned Smothered Steak:

Put flour, salt and pepper in plastic bag. Moisen steaks and shake in bag to coat with flour mixture. (or place flour, salt & pepper in dish and then dredge moistened steaks in the flour mixture) Add the oil to a frying pan and brown both sides of the steaks. Meanwhile slice the onion.
