The ingredients for Deb's Swiss Steak are:

1 1/2 pounds chuck steak tenders (8 pieces)
1 14.5 oz can petite or regular diced tomatoes
1 medium yellow or white onion, peeled and sliced
1 cup unbleached white flour
garlic powder to taste
salt and pepper to taste
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Olive Oil



How Do I Make Deb's Swiss Steak?

Here is how you make Deb's Swiss Steak:

Tenderize steak with meat hammer. Mix flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a paper or plastic bag. Preheat heavy skillet and add small amount of olive oil. Cook onion until translucent. Remove onions and place in baking pan. Keep skillet hot and add olive oil as needed. Dredge steaks 2 at a time in the flour mixture and place in hot skillet to sear both sides. Remove to plate. Repeat with 2 steaks at a time until all have been seared. Add canned tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce to the onions in the baking pan. Place steaks in the baking pan in 2 layers, spooning tomatoes and onions over each layer. Cover pan with plastic wrap and foil. Bake in 200 degree oven for 2-4 hours.
