What Are The Ingredients For sukkot stew Recipe?The ingredients for sukkot stew are: 2 lbs chuck roast, cut into 1-inch pieces1 tsp salt 2 Tbsp olive oil 3 med onions, peeled and sliced 2 lg sweet potatoes, peeled and quartered 5-6 lg carrots, peeled and thickly sliced 2 white potatoes, peeled and quartered 5 oz of prunes (recipe calls for 8 oz, but it's too fruity for me) 5 oz dried apricots (same story as the prunes) rind and juice of 1 orange 1/4 cup brown sugar dash of nutmeg 1/2 tsp cinnamon salt and pepper to taste (I don't really bother, there's so much flavor!) How Do I Make sukkot stew?Here is how you make sukkot stew: -Sprinkle the meat with the salt. Heat oil in skillet over med heat. Brown the meat and onions.-Add enough water to cover the meat. Simmer, uncovered, for one hour.-Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F). Place meat, onions, and cooking liquid in a 4 qt casserole dish. Add all potatoes, carrots, prunes, apricots, orange juice and rind. Sprinkle with brown sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon. Cover contents with water. Cover casserole dish and bake for 1 hour.-Uncover, season with salt and pepper, if desired, and bake an additional 2 hours, or until the liquid disappears and the top is crusty.I usually get about 10 servings out of this one, and I usually serve it with couscous.
