Add the chunks of beef. Sprinkle the other half of the above on top of meat. Sear on both sides and simmer in juices for a short time. Press or mince garlic and add to pan. Make a rue of flour and water (dissolve flour in warm water) and add slowly to simmering pot. Allow to simmer until sauce is thickened and meat is done to your liking. Add black pepper and garlic salt.
