Here is how you make Meredith's Stroganoff:

Slice venison or beef steak into thin narrow strips. Brown in a pan spread with cooking spray or a little oil. Add beef broth a couple of cups of water and onion soup mix, Worcestershire Sauce, garlic powder, basil, and salt. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30-45 minutes. Add cream of mushroom soup and mushrooms and then continue cooking until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Then cook noodles.
