I wanted to make something I had never made before, but I didn't have much in the pantry - this is what I came up with. Pretty tasty!! What Are The Ingredients For Layered Taco Caserole Recipe?The ingredients for Layered Taco Caserole are: 1c White Rice1T Shedd's Spread Country Crock 1t Chili Powder 1t Cumin 1t Onion Powder 1t Garlic Powder 2c Water 1c Cheese Sauce/Dip in jar 1lb Lean Ground Beef 1/2c chopped onion 1 small can Tomato Sauce 1 package Taco Seasoning 1 can Black Beans (drained) 2 small Tomatoes 1/2c Shredded Cheddar Cheese How Do I Make Layered Taco Caserole?Here is how you make Layered Taco Caserole: Melt margarine in a small saucepan and add rice and spices; stir together, and cook for a few minutes. Add water and bring to a boil then reduce heat to simmer, and cook for 25 minutes. While rice is cooking, brown beef until no longer pink, and add onion; sweat until translucent. Add tomato sauce, and taco seasoning, and reduce heat to low while rice finishes cooking. Chop tomatoes (you could probably substitute chunky salsa here if you wanted to add a bit more flavor). When rice is done cooking, combine with cheese dip (if you have a homemade cheddar cheese sauce, you could use that instead to cut down the sodium). Layer half the ingredients (rice, beans, tomatoes, and taco meat) in a medium sized baking dish (I think mine is 1.5L) then repeat, and cover with shredded cheddar.
