Healthier version of Banana Bread. Substitute applesauce for the oil usually used. I haven't tried this yet with stone ground whole wheat, but it should be as good. Have not substituted sugar yet, but am interested in trying something else in place of the regular sugar. Also, you can use egg white instead of the whole egg. Of course, you could also not use the sale as well to lower the sodium.

1/3 cup of unsweetened applesauce
1/3 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 1/3 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp boaking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 cup chopped walnuts

Mix wet ingredients with mashed bananas, then add dry ingredients. Pour into loaf pan that has been greased (or 'Pammed") and floured.
