Here is how you make Blueberry-Cherry Jam:

1. Prepare jars,lids and kettle for hot water processing.2. Wash, stem and pit fruit. Juice lemon. 3. Crush berries and cherries, in layers, to make 4 cups of mashed fruit. Put in large stainless steel pot. Add cherry and lemon juices, extract, and pouch (49g) of pectin. (Add 1/4 tsp butter if desired to reduce foaming.) Stir until pectin dissolved.4. Over high heat bring mixture to full rolling boil, stirring frequently.5. Add sweetener (up to 3 c sugar to taste, honey, or Splenda). 6. Stirring constantly, return mixture to full rolling boil that cannot be stirred down. Boil hard for 3 minutes. 7. Remove from heat, skim off foam if necessary.8. Fill and process jars according to manufacturers instructions, bringing canner to full rolling boil for 10 minutes.
