2/3 c. peanut butter (crunchy, unsalted)
2 T. unsweetened applesauce
1 egg, beaten
2 c. sour milk (recipe below)

Here is how you make peanut butter bread:

Add lemon juice to milk , stir and let set for 15 min. Grease an 8x4x2 1/2-inch loaf pan. Sift both wheat and unbleached flour , measure and resift 3 times with soda and salt. Blend sugar and peanut butter well; add applesauce and egg, beat until smooth. Add flour mixture and sour milk alternate in 2 portions beating until smooth. Turn into prepared pan. Bake in a moderate oven (350 F ) 1 hr. or until browned and bread tests done with a cake tester or toothpick. Remove from pan to cake rack to cool.
