1/2 cup white, all-purpose flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Dry Mustard
1/2 tsp. Pepper
1/4 tsp. Salt
3 tbsp. Butter, unsalted, cut into little pieces.
4 Turkey breakfast Sausage Links , crumbled and browned.
3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
3/4 cup Buttermilk, lowfat,
1 Egg white, lightly beaten with 1 tsp. water.


How Do I Make Sausage and Cheese Scones?

Here is how you make Sausage and Cheese Scones:

Preheat the oven to 400 F. Put parchment paper on a baking sheet. In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. Add the butter and blend with a pastry cutter or 2 knives until the dough is crumbly. Add the sausage and cheese; toss to combine. Add the buttermilk and stir until the dough comes together. Turn out on a lightly floured surface. Gently knead for about 30 seconds. Use a 1/4 cup measure to scoop out dough and form into small circles and place on the baking sheet. Or it can be patted into one large circle about 8 inch across and 1 inch think. Cut into wedges and pull apart slightly. Brush with egg mixture. Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
