1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Mix oatmeal and milk in a medium mixing bowl, and let soak for about 5 minutes.Mix in the rest of the ingredients. batter will be very thick.Heat a skillet to medium, and spray with EVOO spray.Measure 1/4 C batter. Scrape it onto the skillet with a spoon, then flatten it out to about 1/2". Cook over medium-low heat. These are very dense and need to cook slowly so the inside will cook before the outside burns.NOTE on whole grains:I used whole wheat flour, rye flour, wheat germ, and oat germ. I just put a spoonful each of the rye and germs into my 1C measure, then filled the rest with whole wheat.
