Mix 2 cups boiling water with 4 cups 100% All Bran Cereal. Mix and set aside.In another bowl cream together: oil or shortening, sugars, and beaten eggs.Mix together the flour, soda, and salt. Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk to the creamed mixture in a large bowl. Add all bran mixture to above and stir. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes (or try 375 for 25 minutes)Variations: Add dates, raisins, or nuts. Keep mixture in refrigerator and bake as needed. Keeps great.
