What Are The Ingredients For Harry's English Muffins Recipe?The ingredients for Harry's English Muffins are: 8.5 cup flour, all purpose, enriched, unbleached - Western Family4.5 tsp Active Dry Yeast - Red Star 6 tbsp morning moo 2% dry milk 3 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap .75 cup Butter, salted 9 tsp Granulated Sugar 1.5 tsp Salt How Do I Make Harry's English Muffins?Here is how you make Harry's English Muffins: In a saucepan, heat and stir the milk, butter, sugar and salt until warm, about 120-130 degrees until the butter is almost melted. Mix the yeast and flour in a bowl, turn on mixer and slowly add liquid mixture to flour and knead on low until incorporated.( use dough hook). If sticky add more flour. You want a moderate stiff ball that is smooth and elastic. Place ball in a greased bowl and turn to completely grease the surface.Cover and let rise until double (about 1 hour).Punch it down. Divide into 3 ounce sections which you knead and shape into balls . Lightly sprinkle corn meal on cookie sheet to prevent sticking and space about 3 inches apart. (corn meal dusts off at end) Cover and let rise about 1 hour until double.Preheat oven to 350. Use an empty cookie sheet on top of muffins and flatten them to about 1 inch high. (if you want to use these as buns for hamburgers, don't press them down as far)Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
