How Do I Make TK's Almond Oatmeal (breakfast for the week)?

Here is how you make TK's Almond Oatmeal (breakfast for the week):

Bring water and salt to a boil. Add oatmeal and simmer over low heat for 12-15 minutes. While oatmeal is cooking, prepare other ingredients. Put wheat germ and cranberries in a food chopper or processor. Process until cranberries are in small pieces. When oatmeal is cooked to your liking, add flaxseed meal, wheat germ/cranberry mixture, almonds, maple syrup, almond extract, vanilla extract, egg whites, and cinnamon. Cover for about five minutes, I immediately divide mine into eight equal servings in food storage containers. Serve however you like--as is or topped with cinnamon, or additional sweetener like agave nectar or maple syrup, or with a little cream, milk, or soy milk. ps. I use the Egg Beaters Whites not only because they're more convenient but also because they're pasteurized.Serving Size:?Makes 8 one-cup servings.Number of Servings: 8Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user ROSCOEGIRL.
