This recipe shamelessly steals some of the preparation instructions from the Quaker Oatmeal package. Seeing as I'm recommending their product here, I doubt they'll mind. ;)Combine the water, salt, cinnamon, sugar, Craisins, and walnuts in a small cooking pan. It is *important* to add the ingredients at the first. Boiling will rehydrate the Craisins into sweetened cranberries, and will also cause the oatmeal to absorb some of the walnut oil, which results in a "buttery" taste that isn't heavy or unhealthy like actual butter.Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.Add the oatmeal. Reduce the heat immediately to roughly medium-low, or whatever keeps it simmering.Stir the mixture occasionally until it is at the level of firmness that you prefer.Enjoy! I usually consider this to be a "meal-sized" breakfast dish, so I call it one 2 cup serving. You can easily split it in half and serve it with other breakfast items if you're cooking for two people.
