4-6 T. sugar, divided
2 c. thickly sliced pears
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
2/3 c. whole wheat pastry flour
1 1/2 t. minced fresh ginger OR almond extract
2 t. vanilla
1 pinch salt
1/2 t. ground cinnamon
2 T. powdered sugar


How Do I Make Pear Clafouti?

Here is how you make Pear Clafouti:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter a deep 10-inch pie plate, and sprinkle 1 T. sugar over the bottom.2. Arrange the pear slices so they cover the entire bottom of the pie plate. Sprinkle 1-2 T. sugar over the top of pears. In a blender, combine the remaining 3 T. sugar, eggs, milk, flour, ginger or almond, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Process until smooth, then pour over the fruit in the pie pan.3. Bake 50-60 minutes until fairly firm and lightly browned. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing.
