Buzz the bread (with the crusts) in the food processor to make fine crumbs. Grate the onion into a medium size bowl. Add all other ingredients. Mix well with your hands. Shape into small patties. I have made as few as 8 and as may as 16. Broil until they are beginning to brown and are sizzling. Flip them over and broil the other side. Don't overcook or they will be dry.
