Makes two loaves. I found the original recipe at http://www.ifood.tv/recipe/granola_bread. I decreased the granola from 1.5 cups and chose to use brown sugar instead of honey or molasses. Also, each time I make it I substitute more of the whole grain flour for the all purpose. You can also use any kind of granola that you like.

2 tsp sugar (10 ml)
2 envelopes dry yeast (2 envelopes = 4.5 teaspoons)
1 cup warm water (250 ml)
1 cup scalded milk (250 ml)
1/2 cup cold water (125 ml)
1/4 cup oil (60 ml)
1/4 cup honey, molasses or brown sugar (60 ml)
2 1/2 tsp salt (12 ml)
5 cups all purpose flour (1250 ml)
2 cups whole wheat flour (500 ml)
3/4 cups Crunchy Granola (375 ml)

Here is how you make Granola Bread:

Dissolve sugar and yeast in the warm water and let proof.Scald the milk, then pour it into a large beater bowl and add the next four ingredients.Beat in 2 cups (500 ml) all purpose flour, then the dissolved yeast and beat well.Add the whole wheat flour and beat just to mix.Remove beaters and work in enough additional all purpose flour to make a soft dough.Knead until smooth, then knead in the granola and a little more all purpose flour if necessary to form a stiff but slightly sticky dough.Form into a flat ball and cut like a pie into 6 wedges.Tuck the pointed end of each wedge under and roll back and forth on the board to form a rope, about 9 inches (23 centimeters) long.Braid 3 ropes together and set on a small greased cookie sheet or in a 9x5 loaf pan.Repeat.Cover with towels and let rise until doubled.Rising time, 1 to 1 1/4 hours.Bake at 375F (190C) for 35 to 40 minutes.
