What Are The Ingredients For Low Fat Berry Scones Recipe?The ingredients for Low Fat Berry Scones are: * Flour, white, 2 cup* Granulated Sugar, 3 TBSP * Baking Powder, 1 TBSP * Salt, .5 tsp * Butter, unsalted, 2 tbsp * Buttermilk, lowfat, 1 cup * Blueberries Dried Kirkland/Costco or Craisins or both , 1/2 cup or more depending on taste * Orange Juice, 1 cup * Orange Peel, 1 tbsp * Egg white, .25 serving How Do I Make Low Fat Berry Scones?Here is how you make Low Fat Berry Scones: Take Blueberries or Craisins or both and Orange Juice, 1 cup and put into bowl to allow berries to plump while you mix the rest of the ingredients. * Flour, white, 2 cup * Granulated Sugar, 3 TBSP * Baking Powder, 1 TBSP * Salt, .5 tsp * Orange Peel, 1 tbsp Mix all dry ingredients together... I tend to sift my dry ingredients when baking so that everything is broken up and mixed together well. Throw in the orange peel after you sift.Add the berries here.Next, toss the Butter, unsalted, 2 tbsp in the dry mixture until butter is coated then add the Buttermilk, lowfat, 1 cup. Just incorporate... do NOT over mix or knead this dough or it will become tough. You want light and fluffy scones so gather dough onto baking sheet or baking stone into a round mass and then press down with hand. Then cut it while it is on the baking sheet or stone into 12 triangles. Egg wash the tops and then bake them in a 425 degree oven for about 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown on top. It really depends on the oven as to how long you will bake these. I have baked them in 12 minutes and I have had some ovens take almost 20 minutes. Just watch them.If you use chocolate chips instead then leave out the orange juice step and the orange peel.
