How Do I Make Aunt Edith's Welsh Cakes?

Here is how you make Aunt Edith's Welsh Cakes:

Cream margarine and lard. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add to creamed lard mix. Beat eggs and vanilla together and add to flour mix slowly. If mix is dry, add a touch of milk (not usually necessary). Mix in currants. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into rounds. Pre-heat griddle to 400 degrees. Place rounds on griddle and cook to golden brown. Turn down heat if necessary so as not to burn and to cook through. Remove rounds from griddle and cool slightly on a baking rack.
