Here is how you make Mommy's Peanut Blossoms:

Mix shortening, butter, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla thoroughly. Stir in remaining ingredients except chocolate kisses. Form dough in to balls using a dining teaspoon for measuring. Place balls about 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375F for 9 minutes. Place one chocolate kiss in the center of each cookie. Bake an additional 2 minutes.
