This is one of my favorite BBQ side dishes. If you wanted to make the recipe healthier, you could substitute Olive Oil for Canola Oil, Light Soy Sauce instead of regular Soy Sauce and Splenda in place of Granulated Sugar. My family loves to add a 4 oz can of small shrimp to boost the protein sometimes too.

Here is how you make Brown Rice Salad:

Cook 1 cup brown rice in 2 1/4 cup water for 40 minutes. Put hot rice in bowl. Add celery, peas, and scallions.In small bowl mix next 7 ingredients. Stir and pour over rice mixture.
