Preheat oven to 375 F.Combine dry ingredients and lemon zest. Add the butter and rub with fingertips into the dry stuff until a coarse meal texture. Add cherries and almonds, then the liquid a little at a time. Form dough into two equal sized rounds, about 1" thick. Cut each into 6 wedges. Transfer to parchment lined baking sheet and sprinkle each generously with turbinado sugar.
