How Do I Make Apple and Almond Friands?

Here is how you make Apple and Almond Friands:

Preheat the oven to 180?C. Grease 10 muffin or friand moulds using a little of the melted butter. Sift the icing sugar, flour and cardamom into a bowl. Mix in the ground almonds. Mix in the butter, then gently fold in the egg whites and apple until evenly combined. Spoon the mixture into the moulds and sprinkle with slivered almonds. Bake for 20 minutes or until the friands are golden and springy to the touch.
