Slice apples in an 8x8 or 9x6 glass baking dish, sprinkle 1/2 cup water over apples. Then sprinkle evenly, vanilla, cinnamon & nutmeg over apples. In a medium size bowl with pastry blender, blend together softened butter, brown sugar & flour until brown sugar & flour are wet & mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over the apples. Bake uncovered 350 degrees for one hour. Once cooled, store in fridge with foil or plastic cover. Use within 3-4 days. Add 1 TBSP of whipped cream for a totally decadent dessert.
