In a bowl with an electric mixer, cream butter and honey, add egg and apple cider and mix well. Add remaining ingredients. Allow the dough to stand for 10 minutes at room temperature. Lightly butter 2 cookie sheets. Divide the dough between them, using a spatula to form two "logs" of about 11 x 4 inches each. Bake the loaves for 20-25 minutes or until firm to the touch. Allow to cool for 20 minutes. Carefully remove with a spatula to a cutting board and slice on the diagonal into 1/2 inch slices. Place them on their sides on the cookie sheets and put back in the oven for 7 minutes on each side to toast.
