2 1/2 cups bread flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 Tablespoon instant yeast
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water
2 1/4 teaspoons vegetable oil

For the glaze:
1/3 cup confectioner sugar, sifted
5 teaspoons whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch Kosher salt
Pinch cinnamon

Here is how you make Apple Braid Bread:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.Make filling: Peel, core and slice apples into thin slices, then cut the slices in half. Toss apple pieces with sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice in a 8 inch square baking pan or 9 inch pie tin for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside. Leave oven on to bake bread.Make bread while the apple filling is baking. Mix dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add water and oil, mix for 6 minutes using electric mixer on medium-high speed.Spray smooth clean surface with cooking spray (I flour pastry sheet instead), turn dough out onto surface. Knead dough briefly to give it a smooth surface. Spray or flour rolling pin, roll dough into rectangle about 12x16 inches. Lift onto greased baking sheet ( I turn pastry sheet onto baking sheet).Using sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each side into 1 inch strips leaving the middle 1/3 of the dough uncut. Spread apple filling down the middle. starting at one end, take 1 inch strips and lay across filling, alternating strips from each side to make the braid. Lightly press ends to seal, straighten out braid with your hands if necessary.Bake for 25 minutes.Making the glaze:Whisk together glaze ingredients in a small bowl until blended and smooth. Spread glaze over apple braid. You may transfer to cooling rack over baking sheet to catch drips and prevent soggy bottom.Slice and serve.
