Cool slightly. In bowl, beat eggs and blend thoroughly into milk mixture. Add salt, vanilla cinnamon and nutmeg; mix well. Place bread cubes in a large, buttered, oven proof casserole dish. Pour milk/egg mixture over bread cubes; toss to coat. Set casserole dish in a pan of hot water. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until knife comes out clean. Makes 6 servings. Serve with vanilla Sauce (see below)Vanilla SauceIn saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch; add water gradually, stirring constantly. Boil for 5 minutes; remove from heat.
