Put them in the oven under broil until they're dry and toasted. Set aside for now.Grab a small casserole pan, 8X11, or 8X13, and use the tbsp of butter to grease the bottom and sides.Whisk all of your eggs and whites together, adding milk, brown sugar, and 1 or 2 TBSP or cinnamon, depending on your tastes. Beat until well-mixed, but not airy. Back to the bread. Seperate 4 of the slices, ripping them into chunks of various sizes, silver dollar sized and larger is best. Put them in your greased pan.Core, slice and peel the apple.Put it in a blender or food processor, chop finely (Pieces should be about the size of half a dime.)Scatter the apple bits over the chunks of bread in the pan, taking care to evenly distribute them. Add raisins to the pan.Tear the remainder of the bread into chunks, and set over apple and raisins in the pan.Preheat oven to 350.Grab your egg and milk mixture, pour into pan.Let the bread set in the sauce for 10-20 minutes, pressing it down occasionally with your palms.Cover the pan with foil, loosely domed, and set in a larger pan with an inch or so of water in it, before placing both pans in the oven.Cook until done. Times will vary, but check after an hour. Add more water to bottom pan, if needed. Do not let water dry out completely.Bread pudding is done when it rises, and an inserted toothpick comes out clean. If you prefer more texture, take the foil off and let it bake another 5-10 minutes. When it's time to serve, mix 1/4 cup milk for each serving with a scant tsp of sugar and pour over the top of bread pudding.Feel free to add a drop of vanilla extract, if you like.Just don't over-do it.:P Number of Servings: 8Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user __ZENA.What's The Nutritional Info For Zena's bread pudding? The nutritional information for Zena's bread pudding is:
