Here is how you make High Altitude Applesauce Bread - Whole wheat:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the bottom of a 9x5-inch loaf pan. In a large bowl, cream together oil and sugar. Beat in egg. Stir in applesauce. In a separate bowl, stir together both flours, salt and baking soda. Add flour mixture and buttermilk alternately to sugar mixture, 1/3 at a time, stirring after each addition. Fold in chopped nuts. Pour batter into pan. Bake for about 75 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and cool in pan.
