3/4 lb. candied pineapple chopped
3/4 lb. candied cherries whole
1 lb. white (golden) raisins
1 c. butter or margarine
2 1/4 c. sugar
6 eggs
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. syrup
4 c. sifted flour
1 t. nutmeg
1 t. salt
2 1/2 t. cinnamon


How Do I Make Old Fashioned Light Fruit Cake?

Here is how you make Old Fashioned Light Fruit Cake:

Line pans with foil. Mix nuts and fruit together. Mix together butter, sugar, eggs, juice and syrup. Sift together flour, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Thoroughly mix flour mixture with butter/egg mixture. Work nuts and fruits into batter with heavy spoon or hands. Fill pans 2/3 full. Decorate with candied fruit and nuts as desired.
