1 stick of light margarine or butter
1 cup honey
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup egg substitute
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups of Pioneer Brand or Betty Crocker Buttermilk Pancake Mix
1/2-1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)


How Do I Make Honey Applesauce Cake?

Here is how you make Honey Applesauce Cake:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place margarine in a large mixing bowl, softened, with the honey and mix together well by hand. The add the applesauce and egg substitute and mix on low setting until everything is blended. Add cinnamon, vanilla, and pankcake mix and continue mixing until everything is well blended. Fold in the nuts if desired. Lightly oil either 2 8 inch pans or 1 11x7 inch pan and pour in the batter. Cook for approximately 20-25 for 8 in pans, 25-30 for 11x7 pan, checking the center to make sure it is done. Cut into squares and serve warm.
