The frosting is what really adds the calories & fat!!!! You could try something else if you wish. I made this for people at work so I didn't really care about the cals & fat.

Almond Extract, 1/2 tsp

Vanilla Buttercream Frosting:
Cream Cheese, 8 oz
Butter, unsalted, 1 cup
Powdered Sugar, 2lbs
Milk, nonfat, 1Tbsp
Vanilla Extract, 1 tsp
Salt, 1/4 tsp


How Do I Make Sugar and Spice Cake?

Here is how you make Sugar and Spice Cake:

Preheat oven to 350. Beat together 1st 6 ingred & if desired, almond extract at low speed with an electric mixer just until dry ingred. are moistened. Increase speed to medium, & beat 2 min or until batter is smooth, stopping to scrape down bottom & sides of bowl as needed. Pour batter into 3 creased & floured 8" round cake pans. Bake at 350 for 20-22 min or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks 5 min, remove from pans to wire racks, & cool completely (about 1 hour). Wrap in plastic wrap, and freeze for 1 hour or up to 1 month.Frosting:Beat Cram cheese & butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy.
