In large pot, put sugar, water, lard, salt, spices and raisins. Bring to boil over medium heat. Once it starts to bubble, cook for 5 minutes stirring constantly. Take off hob and let cool until cold. Then add baking soda/water and gradually add flour. Beat all to the Greater Good. Bake in a slow oven (325*F) for 40 minutes or until straw comes out clean.
