1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 - 6oz package chocolate chips (1 cup)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Here is how you make Anne's Chocolate Chip Cookies:

Set Oven for 375 degrees.In large mixing bowl, beat in shortenings with electric mixer set on medium speed, for 30 seconds. Add sugar and brown sugar and beat until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. In medium bowl sift dry ingredients. With mixer on low speed gradually add the flour mixture, beating until well mixed. With a wooden spoon stir in chips and nuts.
