Lightly sppon flour into dry measuring cups, level with knife. Combine flour, baking powder and salt and stir well with whisk.4. In a separate bowl, add strained applesauce, sugar and butter - beat with a mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy (about 3 min). Beat in vanilla and egg4. Reducing beater to slow speed, slowly add flour mixture to wet mixture until well blended. Fold in chocolate chips using a rubber spatula.5. On a baking sheet coated well with non-stick cooking spray, drop level tablespoons 2 inches apart onto baking sheets (the mixture does not spread far despite it's slightly watery consistency).6.
