Makes 24 cookies. Melt peanut butter chips in microwave (stir every 30 sec. to make sure don't burn). Stir and spread on non-stick pan in relatively thin layer (will be breaking up later into chunks). Put in freezer to cool while prepare rest of batter.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together the butter, Splenda, brown sugar, and 1 tsp. baking soda until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve remaining tsp. baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate broken into chunks, and peanut butter mixture broken into chunks (should be ready to break apart at this point). Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans. If you like cookies rounded, leave as is. If you like them spread apart more, press them down lightly with your hand to flatten a bit. They will not spread much while cooking.
