Here is how you make Old-fashioned Gingerbread Cookies:

1. Cream the butter and sugar, beat in egg. Add molasses and water, (I use the hot water to get the last drops of molasses out of the measuring cup). Beat until smooth. Add dry ingredients and mix until a smooth dough forms. Refrigerate dough for an hour or until chilled through. Flour surface, roll 3/8 to 1/4 inch thick and cut out fun shapes. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets. 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 9-10 minutes.
