1/2 Stick or 1/4 C. Unsalted Butter
1/2 C. Unsweetened Applesauce
1/2 C. Brown Sugar, packed
1 Large Egg
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
3/4 C. Rolled Oats
2/3 C. Craisins
1/2 C. Chopped Walnuts


How Do I Make Thick Oatmeal Craisin Cookies?

Here is how you make Thick Oatmeal Craisin Cookies:

Preheat Oven to 350 Degrees - either spray 2 baking sheets with Non-Stick Spray or use Liners.In a small bowl mix, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg and salt. In a mixing bowl, beat butter, applesauce and sugar until smooth. Add egg and vanilla until combined. Turn mixer off and add some flour mixture gradually, while mixing on low, until just combined. Stir in oats, craisins and walnuts. Chill mix in fridge before cooking to ensure thicker cookies. If you don't do this they will come out more flat. 5-10 mins is fine.Using a rounded tablespoon, drop cookies onto lined baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake 10-12 mins or until edges are brown.
