1 envelope knox gelatin
1/2 c water (alter to taste depending on how gelled you want this. I did it with 1/8 cup water and it was rather too stiff)

place berries and 1/4 cup water in pan. bring to a boil until cranberries pop (maybe 5 minutes). While berries are cooking, mix 1/4 c water, maple syrup and cocoa powder until blended. sprinkle gelatin on top and allow to bloom per pkg instructions. When berries are ready, stir into gelatin mixture until gelatin is well-mixed throughout. add vanilla if desired.place in fridge for an hour or two. cut and eat.If it's not stiff enough, reduce water in another batch. this will depend on how much juice comes out of the berries, too.
