Swirl occasionally until a nice, nutty brown. Take off heat. Pour in an 8x8 pan and set aside. This is particularly nice in a cast iron pan, but watch the baking time as it will cook faster.Mix flour, 1/2 cup sugar, salt and baking powder in a small bowl. Add buttermilk and stir until ingredients are just combined. A few lumps are OK. Pour this into the 8x8 pan and smooth gently.
