Cook, stirring until sugar is dissolved.Continue cooking until 238 degrees on candy thermometer (soft ball) is achieved.Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm, 110 degrees.Add vanilla and nuts, and beat until thick and mixture is not glossy.Pour into greased 8x8 pan. When firm, cut into pieces.
