Here is how you make Old-Fashioned Fudge:

Butter an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.In a 3 1/2 quart heavy saucepan, mix sugar with dry gelatine. Add milk, corn syrup, unsweetened chocolate, and butter.Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture reaches 238F on a candy thermometer. Watch carefully once the temperature is above 200F.Remove from heat. Pour into large mixing bowl. Stir in vanilla extra. Cool 30 minutes. This step is very important.Beat with a wooden spoon until candy thickens. Stir in walnuts quickly. Spread into prepared pan. Let cool. Cut into squares.
