What Are The Ingredients For Trisha's Lemon Merengues Recipe?The ingredients for Trisha's Lemon Merengues are: 3 egg whites1 tsp vanilla flavoring (I use imitation) Zest of 1 Fresh Lemon Juice of 1 Fresh lemon 2 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar Butter and flour for cookie sheet only How Do I Make Trisha's Lemon Merengues?Here is how you make Trisha's Lemon Merengues: Butter and flour a cookie or baking sheet. Wash all oil off of hands. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. In a clean glass mixing bowl. Separate egg whites from the yolk. Save the yolk for another use. Zest fresh lemon into the bowl with the egg whites. Roll lemon to get ready for juicing and cut in half. Squeeze lemon juice into bowl being careful not to drop the seeds in. Add vanilla. With an electric mixer set on high start whipping the egg whites. When they start to get foamy start adding powdered sugar 1 Tbsp at a time. When all is added in, continue mixing on high until stiff peaks appear. A stiff peak will be when you stop the mixer and pull it out of the egg whites and they remain standing. Drop by Tablespoonfuls onto a prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 3 hours or until the meringues look dry. It is good to check every hour.
