Here is how you make Apple Pie with Homemade crust:

Mix in a large bowl the 2 cups flour, tsp salt, and 3/4 cup shortening until mixture resembles crumbs. Mix in 6 Tbsp of water (you can add more if needed) until dough forms. Divide dough into 2 rounds. Roll one round out on a floured surface. Pat into a 9 inch pie pan. Peel, core and thinly slice the apples. Set aside. Mix in another large bowl the cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, 1/4 cup flour, dash salt. Toss apples into sugar mixture until well coated. Spoon apple mixture into unbaked crust in pie pan. Dot with the Tbsps of butter. Roll out the other dough round. Place on top of apples in pie pan. Seal the edges by pinching together. Flatten edges with a fork or use fingers to add decorative edge. Slit the top in a few places with a fork so steam can escape. Bake at 425 degree oven for 40 to 50 minutes until crust is golden and juice is bubbly. Serving Size:?Makes 8 serving slices
